OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Center of Excellence (CEHMM) is seeking a full-time Operations Manager to oversee logistical operations and be responsible for evaluating and developing outreach strategies, planning and coordinating outreach efforts for the company and to facilitate strategic relationships and partnerships with key industry players, agencies, and vendors. CEHMM is a non-profit organization with diverse projects and excellent job advancement opportunities. Project categories include, but are not limited to; conservation, threatened and endangered species, range management, reclamation/environmental restoration, algal farming, environmental compliance, GIS mapping, consulting in oil and gas operations; dependent on industry focus and company needs. Candidates must be well versed in scheduling and project management in addition to possessing the ability to demonstrate exceptional social and professional skills; be self-motivated and willing to implement your own ideas and creative solutions.

Environmental Services Field Technician

Center of Excellence (CEHMM), a non-profit conservation and environmental services organization, is seeking a full time Environmental Services Field Technician to assist and support activities primarily associated with the oil and gas energy sector. The position will be based out of the Carlsbad, NM office. Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position will include conducting onsites and conflict analyses of proposed activities and surveys for threatened or endangered species, along with preparation of NEPA documents. These duties require rigorous manual labor and exposure to extreme weather temperatures on a consistent basis.  A Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology or related field is preferred. NEPA experience and ArcGIS experience preferred. Salary range $14.00-$23.00 per hour DOE. Send letter, resume, and references to CEHMM, 505 N. Summer Internship

The Center of Excellence (CEHMM), a non-profit science and research organization, is seeking students for a summer internship in the following fields: Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Wildlife Science, Biology, or Range Studies. The candidates should have a GPA of at least 3.0 and continuing enrollment in an undergraduate degree program. Internship will last approximately 12 weeks, throughout the summer months. Internship duties may include but not be limited to biological surveys (e.g., raptor, owl), pitfall trapping of Dunes Sagebrush Lizards, vegetation surveys/monitoring, compliance monitoring of industry projects, and assorted office work.
Interns should expect 8-12 hour days in the field and be comfortable working in extreme temperatures. Interns will be expected to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (provided by CEHMM) and follow company mandated safety requirements. Interns will be stationed at either CEHMM’s Carlsbad, NM office or the Milnesand, NM field office. Salary will be $14 - $20/hr based on experience.
